Introduction
WIKEEPS returns this year to the Salon Vinitech Sifel, a trade show for equipment and services dedicated to the wine industry.
(December 2-3-4, 2014 – Bordeaux Exhibition Center – Stand 1B2111)
In 2012, WIKEEPS won the Oenovation Trophy organized by the Technopole de Bordeaux Montesquieu and awarded on this occasion to reward innovation in the wine sector.
Faced with increasingly demanding consumers and growing wine tourism, tasting bottles of wine at the Estate is becoming an essential act in the discovery of vintages. For the Estates, tasting remains the best way to sell their wines.
This raises the problem of the cost of tastings: open several bottles to serve only a few doses of tastings. Discarding or transforming the remaining wine at a certain cost, it is not uncommon for a Bordeaux grand cru to throw away the equivalent of more than 10 cases of wine per year as a result.
The problem also arises with small cuvées that cannot be pushed easily in tasting.
The Wikipedia solution
It is to respond to these issues that Wikeeps has developed the only French system for preserving and serving wine by the glass in Bordeaux.
It uses oenological gas capsules (mixture of Argon and CO2) produced in partnership with the Linde group.
Light, efficient and easy to use, it is placed directly on the bottle as soon as it is opened. The wine can be served and stored for up to 20 days after opening thanks to the quality of the oenological gases contained in the cartridge.
The winegrowers then have a simple and profitable tool allowing them to control their tasting costs while guaranteeing quality tastings of their wines to induce the act of purchase.
This year, WIKEEPS will present wine estates with two complete offers to optimize the quality and cost of their tastings at the Estate or at Trade Shows: the Wibox (including bottle temperature maintenance) and the WIserve (Fixed or mobile furniture for tasting).
